Assalamualaikum and hi :D !
So last weekend, my friend and I went to this place called Seven Oaks, which is a restaurant and also a bakery! It took me a week to finally blog about this as work has been overflowing these few months due our company new system ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
OK back to our main topic about the cafe.
I actually never know about this place, but it turned out that I always pass by the area when I first worked in JB. I always saw the building from across the street and thought that it was just another fancy hotel, which is not!
I was there earlier than my friend. And guess what, both of us sesat jalan! Please, DO NOT follow the location given on their facebook page. It makes me curse because the maps was taking me to the garbage area HAHA. I was like, "Oi I wanna go to a restaurant to eat, you want me to eat garbage meh?". No worries, I will give you the exact address at the end of the post (like always 😉 ) so stay tuned!
|| THE CAFE
unfortunately, I failed to take the picture of the whole building from outside. There were a bunch of guys that was doing piping stuffs nearby, and one of them keep staring at me. super scary! his head even turned and follow my every move! so I decided to wait for my friend inside the cafe and luckily no one bother asking me why I sat inside without buying anything. Maybe the staffs are used to it since the cafe is super fancy & cute hahaha.
Assalamualaikum. :)
After a long hiatus, I'm back with my food review. Yeay~! This time will be about KFry, a Korean food restaurant!
Not to lie, I love Kpop. You know, people's common reaction when I say I like Kpop, is - "why u like those jambu guys? you can't even understand their language!". Oh yeah, say what you want. I don't care because each of us got our own preference. Be nice to each other!
Even not everyone loves Kpop, most of us can't resist Korean food! Ok, forget nationalities, great food is great food! Let's admit it. Korean knows how to make us drool while watching them eat in movies & dramas. Oh speaking of which, have you guys watch 'Let's Eat'? If you haven't, please watch it. If you're hungry, I suggest you to eat first because you won't be able to tahan lapar watching that drama HAHA.
NOT THE FIRST TIME
So I finally got the chance to try Kfry Urban Korean food, and actually this is not my first time coming here. My friend and I actually went here when Kfry first opened. But we didn't order anything and just walk out lol. Why? because the first thing I saw when I get into the restaurant was Cass bottle. Of course I know Cass beer, it's the beer Sandara Park drink in Kiss MV (and I'm a blackjack haha!). I decided to seat, and look at the menu.
Curious and not confident, I walk out of the restaurant. Why? I know they didn't sell pork/ lard but we Muslims also can't drink alcohol. They sell alcohol, and even the food sold doesn't contains alcohol, it's still better to find another place because we're in Malaysia. Halal restaurants is super easy to find. That's my personal opinion- better safe than sorry. So off we went.
Few months later, this restaurant started to get viral. Many muslims came and of course I was curious. So I DM the page asking if the food served is halal, and they say that they didn't have the halal certificate yet, but the ingredients they are using are halal certfied and they also got Muslim staffs there. Enough waiting, lets go Hani!
THE RESTAURANT
We arrived around 130pm (if i'm not mistaken) and the queue was super long! The restaurant is on the second floor and the queue was until downstairs.
long queue

ok the first thing I realized was, the cass bottle and ads is not there anymore and they really hire Muslim staffs! I mean, it's a great news because I can now eat confidently!
I don't take lots of pictures of the interior but overall, the restaurant is so clean and the interior is so gorgeous. Promise you guys next time I will take lots of pictures of the restaurant I make review on. not just the food like this time HAHAHA. I'm saving money to buy myself a camera. But if anyone is willing to sponsor me one, I will be very grateful and I promise you I will make a review post on it HAHAHA (acah-acah retis sekejap).
THE MENU
Nah! here's for you who's planning to go but not sure about your budget and what to order. Click to enlarge.
THE FOOD
I hate it because my seat got bad lighting, how to take good pictures of ME and the food? HAHAHA! So I forced my friend to switch the place for picture purpose. We were like, kejap-kejap tukar tempat to get a nice picture. Rule of good photos- Lighting, Lighting, Lighting! Thanks Bibah :')
Since it was only 2 of us, we ordered UFO Kimchi Bokkeumbap, K'razy Spicy Cheesy Fried Chicken Bumbuk, Mango Rita and Mini Bingsoo - Oreo Chocolate Bingsoo~ and it costs us RM 116.00 :') split the bill guys, split the bill. (still crying after split the bill lol.) Please don't order too much, and I'm not saying this because of the price, but the portion is really generous. We share our Kimchi Bokkeumbap and everything, but still need to bungkus the remaining since we can't finish it.
K'razy Spicy Cheesy Fried Chicken Bumbuk
the staff will help you coat the chicken. (I know you guys can't see it but I love her hairstyle HAHA)
the chicken
The staff will first separate the chicken, cheese & fries. They'll melt and mix the cheese, and after that coat the chicken with the melted cheese. It taste soooooo freaking good! The chicken is sweet and bit spicy (not really spicy for me though), but the pepper paste is super good, the chicken is crunchy and juicy too.
coated chicken
Ok now i'm drooling. =.='''
HAHA I hate the fact that I am hungry because of the food I'm trying to show you guys!
UFO Kimchi Bokkeumbap
I've always wanted to try Kimchi fried rice, so I ordered this. The yellow melted stuff around the rice is the cheese and eggs. topped with half coked egg, and it is served on a hot claypot. The staff will ask if you want their help to mix the rice and I said yes because I was curious, why would they ask if we need their help to "mix" the rice? Is there any special step?
But no lah. they just help you kacau the rice and mix it with everything jeee. I regret saying yes because I really like half cooked kuning telur and it was gone when he mixed it. *bye bye my kuning telur goyang TT~TT
no more telur kuning goyang :')
Honestly, when it first came, I was like, "why does this smells like nasi goreng adabi? The legendary fried rice paste that I love so much. And my friend was, ya lah bau macam nasik goreng adabi.
And it tastes the same as Nasi Goreng Adabi except this one got kimchi, but serius sebijik HAHAHA whyyyy. It's delicious but why u taste like nasi goreng adabi and I paid so much for this HAHAHA. I was laughing at myself, and keep repeat the same question. sedap tapi why? lol.
Our food
Oreo Chocolate Bingsoo. Aiyaiyaaaaa~ *singing Bingsoo from AKMU.
The bingsoo is sooo delicious! I love everything about this bingsoo. the pepero, the vanilla ice cream, the shaved ice underneath the oreo. Just, everything! I wanna try strawberry bingsoo next time, because I love strawberries~
THE SERVICE
free Coke
As I told you, there was a really long queue. But we didn't wait that long, seriously. We're still, so amazed with the speed and their customer service. They served us free Coke as we were waiting in the lines, seated when we reach upstairs at normal chair since the sofa area is full, then we transfer to sofa area. The workers already take note of how many of us before they sit us in the waiting area. We were given the menu while waiting, which will speed up the order processing.
The staffs are also alert with the surrounding, greet us when we walked in, and it's really easy to call them. You angkat tangan sikit, and someone will come. unlike some restaurants which kita dah separa jerit pon, no one cares.
You can tapau everything, even the bingsoo. The staffs will be happy to help. Please don't be shy to tapau back the leftover food, because you pay for it. And don't waste the food just because you malu nak tapau okay.
Friendly staff, speedy order, clean restaurant. I wish went to the toilet to inspect its cleanliness HAHAHA.
