So on our third day, we went to few places, as we were busy moving in and out of our hotel to guesthouse. It was a good thing considering our guesthouse in Itaewon was super comfortable and warm. The first one was good, but the only thing that heats us in our room was a small heater. That was the only thing that the hotel was lacking because I love the room and there were even bath tub! (well tbh, who cares about the bath tub when it's winter? no, not me HAHA)
The bad thing about moving hostels was it was time consuming and I hate that. haha!
Okay off to our third day in SoKor!
1. BUKCHON HANOK VILLAGE
We checked out from our hotel in Jongno to Itaewon and went straight to Bukchon Hanok Village after that.We decided to check in early as we wanna enjoy our day without worrying about time to check in later. So the direction from Itaewon station to Bukchon Hanok Village will be:- from Itaewon to Yaksu (Line 6)
- transfer to Line 3 and drop off at Anguk station exit 1 or 2
- walk straight about 300m and you're there! Just ask locals if you're lost and they'll be happy to help.
come, I'll show you around!
Bukchon Hanok Village is actually a residential area which means it is real homes, not just for show. There are some shops and cafes here, but you will see a lot of signage that request the visitors to be quiet.
2. GWANGHWAMUN SQUARE
If you ever get lost in Bukchon Hanok Village, just ask the locals and lucky for us, we found the tourist information place, which we just took the map and ask for direction. As we walked there, we found a small stall selling hot Bungeoppang (붕어빵). It was W 2,000 for 6pcs and It was so freaking good! I honestly don't fancy red beans but this is an exception- the only exception!
So we walked passed the Gyeongbokgung palace and there seems to be something going on. Cops were everywhere, and traffics were pretty bad.
King Sejong
One of my Korea bucket list is to take a picture with this statue but guess what....
There's an event going on in front of this statue. no wonder why there were lots of cops, and bad traffic *crying. I guess this is the real sign that states - I NEED TO COME HERE AGAIN! lol
3. MYEONGDONG
After a while, we decided to go and proceed to our next plan- to Myeongdong. We went to the Cheonggyecheon stream first and head to Myeongdong. We asked the teens there, and one of them said "Follow me!", and her friends laugh at the way she said that. So cute hahahaha
we made our way to Busan Jib. Just go to the biggest Nature Republic there, the building with green plants all over the walls, and it's around there. The stall was quite hideous and tricky to find but the dishes served was good. There wasn't that much of a choice and most things are served on a big portion for around 3-4 person.

We then strolled around Myeongdong and trust me, there are lots of beauty brands and the popular brands such as innisfree & Etude House got lots of branches here!
Style Nanda pink café
shrimp in a cup
The shrimp comes together with tteokbokki, which lies on the bottom of the cup. The sauce tastes nice, but I will say that this doesn't suit my taste. Most probably because the tteok doesn't really absorb the taste of the sauce.
Tip for shopping here- find 1+1 items! which means buy 1 free 1. it doesn't limit to 1 item, sometimes if you buy 1 set of makeup, you will get another one for FREE! depends on what stores have to offer.
And if you love free samples as much as I do, don't just come to 1 shop and buy something cheap and hope for samples. That doesn't work. trust me. Also, if the store is too full (if you're hunting for free samples along with products, trust me- if the customers are too packed, you will less likely to get as many samples as the other shop), just find another shop because there are few shops of the same brand here. You can walk and see Etude house on your left and walk another 10 mins and see another Etude House! All branch have different promotions, so don't waste your time thinking of whether you should buy something or not in just 1 shop.
There'll be people who will give you free samples but you have to get in to their shop. It doesn't matter if you don't buy any, as long as you get in. We found these a lot especially the unknown / new brands.
Till then,
Thank you for reading this entry!
