ST. IVES FACE SCRUB- TRIED & TESTED

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!

For those who come here for the first time, welcome to my blog! So, between make up and skincare, which one do you prefer? FYI, skincare is my obsession. Seriously, I'm not a big fan of make up thing but I'm obsessed with skincare.

And here's why. Make up is temporary. Yes, you can cover up all your skin blemishes in a blink of an eye, but they can be visible again once you remove your makeup! I love watching Kdramas and of course, I envy their skin soooo much. Even the guys / sidekick actors/ ahjusshis have a really nice skin! Besides, if your skin is in a great condition, wearing make up is a bonus because you don't have to cover sooo much, and the make up can blend in so well too!

Back to the skincare story. Did you know that you need to exfoliate your skin at least once a week? I haven't been able to do so as I suffer from dry skin and it's hard to find me a face scrub that doesn't make my skin condition worse. So you can guess how I was feeling when I receive the package from St Ives Malaysia, right? kekeke~ 

||  MY FIRST IMPRESSION & MY SKIN TYPE         

I was very surprised when I receive the parcel. Like, hey it's not my birthday yet and I didn't order anything!

It came in a cute wooden box, and it smells really good. Yes, the box and everything inside it smells like apricot, in a really pleasant way. I was so happy but kinda afraid at the same time. Why? because it's a face scrub! I tried so many face scrub and most of them left my skin dry I ended up using them to scrub my feet HAHAHAH. I already suffer from a dry skin and most scrub just make it worst. 

I even use the facial cleanser especially formulated for dry skin (you can read it HERE), which produce no foam and made especially for dry skin or else my skin will be flaky, and dry as if it's the desert! As for weekly routine, I sometimes use clay mask, sheet masks and egg masks. But my friend said that St. Ives is a really good brand, and she got a few types of St. Ives scrub at home too. I know her skin type and I can see how her skin gets better every time we met, so yeah, time to give it a try!

|| THE SCRUB      

The scrub smells so good and it's smooth when applied to the skin but still does the job well. What I love about this scrub is  you don't have to rub harshly against your skin for it to do the job.  

And Yes, it really does exfoliate my skin and it brighten up my skin complexion too 😉

As stated at the packaging, this scrub is for deep exfoliating. Hard to believe as it's super gentle on my skin and turn my skin soft and so smooth! I keep rubbing my face against my hands like a crazy person because my cheeks are so soft, like a baby skin. Except I'm old enough to give birth to a baby! HAHAHA

This scrub is made with California Walnut shell, and it's amazing as it's super soft and gentle on skin. Walnuts are actually one of the natural exfoliants for the skin while apricots are rich in vitamin C and E. Why say no to such a great combination? I regret not asking my friend about St. Ives earlier because this product is so sooo good!

|| MY REVIEW     

This is my skin condition before and after I use this scrub. 

Can you see that my skin is glowing? 😍😍😍

My skin is healthier and this scrub works surprisingly well with my dry skin. It doesn't leave my skin dry at all, it exfoliates deeply, even kick off my whiteheads. My skin also gets brighter and healthier. I got 3 acne scars on my face that has been there for months and never seem to fade at all. But after several times scrubbing with St. Ives, the scars started to fade away rapidly! 

Did I mention that I use this product with my mom and she freaking loves it too? 😉😉😉

I've been using this scrub for more than a week, so here's my honest review about St. Ives Scrub (mom agrees too hehe~) :

Pros:

• A little goes long way
• Really does the work- exfoliates deeply, removes dead skin and even white head on my face!
• It does not make my skin dry at all
• Yes, it makes my skin glow!
• No paraben
• Skin feels super smooth after scrubbing 
• does not clog pores
• affordable price!
• made from natural sources and there's no need to worry about the chemicals

Cons:

• Made of walnut shell, might be irritative for sensitive skin.

Will I purchase the scrub if I ran out of stock? 

I love this scrub but I'd change to another if there's a better scrub that's not made of walnut shell.

Will I recommend this product?

Yes, except for sensitive skin.

|| SIDE NOTES     

Walnut shell is actually not suitable for all skin types especially those with sensitive skin. It's been a debate all over the internet and I advise you to do some patch test before applying it on your face.

My skin is dry type, but this scrub works wonders on my blackheads and white heads at my nose area. So far, it doesn't give me any problems and i love how it works. But our skin types are different, so please do patch test if you wanna try this out ya!
