COOKIES & GINGER | AN HONEST REVIEW

January 17, 2019

Assalamualaikum & hi!

I keep making skincare reviews that I skip most of food reviews. seems like that isn't it? hahaha! Mana ada. Actually I was trying out new restaurants and there are lots of restaurants that's disappointing (to me). And Viral restaurants doesn't necessarily means good food okay. Sampai 1 tahap naik menyampah dengan word "viral". I have been disappointed for a few times.

So I was cam, "hmmm taknak review".

Okay back to my review - Cookies & Ginger

||     THE CAFE

My foodhunting partner and I have been coming here for few times and we're always satisfied by the food. Like seriously, always!

Picture from their Facebook page

And last weekend, we went there after around 2 years. I used to work around the area so I often saw the restaurant on my way to/from work but I work somewhere else now. I was quite nervous. Like, what if the restaurant already tutup? (you know, some restaurants doesn't last that long). Last time I did a review on a café and it's already shut down. So I have to update my post or else people will search for it and be disappointed because that café has turned to a tyre shop. Nak makan tayar ke apa haha!

And we were (and still am!) super glad that Cookies & Ginger is still open!

I didn't take pictures of the insides of the restaurant but it actually seems a bit gloomy on the outside. That's because of the lightning and the interior color of the restaurant.

||     MENU

So there are so many choices of food here! But there's a blackboard inside the restaurant that states what's not available for that day. I actualy came to eat Spaghetti Bolognese Philadelphia Style but Bolognese wasn't available that day TT~TT

The menus are basically western style and there are also Mexicans available like Nachos and Buritos.

(Menus taken from their Facebook page. Click HERE for more!)

honestly the price is reasonable and it's really worth every penny and the portion is BIG! If you don't know what to order, or what menu is what, you can just ask assistance from the workers or even the owner himself. Just look for a bald man wearing glasses. That's how he looks like each time we came, for years haha

||     EXPERIENCE

For our latest experience here- our waitresses are spm grads, so a bit hard to ask for suggestion since they just started work and just know the basic stuffs. But owner is really nice and will entertain you.

p/s: ayam chicken chop (left) tu 2 pcs sebenarnya, stacked on top of another.

You know what..., we forgot to withdraw cash since we went to shop for some stuffs and pay only using our card. So when we arrive there, we were like, "Weh mana ada cash!". Then the new worker said that we can withdraw our money at 7eleven nearby. So after lots of Q&A, the worker called the owner to entertain us as she's new and doesn't really know the details of the menu. (or is it us that's been asking complicated questions hahaha! but yes, we do ask a lot because we haven't been there for such a long time!)

The owner let us to order first and go out to withdraw money, but guess what, 7eleven there got no ATM machine and the nearest ATM is like, 7 minutes drive hahaha. aduh betul2 Budak baru adik tu. But the owner insists us on eating first since the food already arrive by the time we came (walked haha) from 7eleven. And the food arrived all at once, and the service is fast too.

And yes, the payment method is only via cash (sadly)

Sirloin steak

everything is just sooo tasty!

||     REVIEW

So, here's my honest review:
4.8 overall
4.9 for food - taste the same even after years
4.0 for the layanan since the workers baru kerja, but she tried her best and not rude. but the boss is down to earth and friendly. 5 ⭐ untuk boss! hahah
4.2 for the ambience - quite dark inside but it's nothing much
4.7 service is fast

will I come again : HELL YES!
