COSRX ADVANCED SNAIL PEPTIDE EYE CREAM REVIEW

I still can't believe many are interested in my Atomy Evening 4 Set review, thank you!!! I will review their sunscreen next but for now let's get to the COSRX Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream.

bear in mind that my skin type is dry ya!

 

||     TRUTH ABOUT EYE CREAM                    

Okay here's the TRUTH about eye cream- It won't erase your dark circle and eye bags completely. Yes, you read that right. Eye cream can help reduce your eye area problems and improve skin around your eyes which includes dark circles, eye bags, fine lines and wrinkles, but the result is temporary- Just like other skincare. So if you expect them to erase your dark circle completely - Forget it. It won't. 

Puffy eyes can be reduced with eye cream only if it contains caffeine as caffeine constricts the blood vessel around your eyes, but again- it's only temporary not permanently. So if you have eye bags around your eyes, find the eye cream that contain caffeine.

To banish dark circles and eye bags completely, you need to do some cosmetics procedures with the doctor (peels, lasers, injections). I will not do that for sure because it's under eye area and I always imagine something bad especially the injection procedures hahah! I bayangkan the doctor inject something for my dark circle tapi tercucuk your eyeballs lepastu buta. HAHA! I know that won't happen but I still find it scary because it's too close to the eyes.

Eye bags and dark circles aside, eye cream are actually the best solution to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Eye area is very sensitive and the skin around the eyes are very thin and delicate so not everything you put on your face is good for the eyes. For example, AHA and BHA are a type of acid use to exfoliate your skin and it's best to leave it out of your eye area as it will irritate the skin and will make your eye conditions worst. I personally use eye cream due to this, as my toner contains BHA but I still refuse to switch to other toner because it's literally the best toner I've ever use! Click HERE to read on my BHA toner.

So basically, eye cream is a type of moisturizer formulated specifically to hydrate and improve the eye area which is very fragile. 

||     COSRX ADVANCED SNAIL PEPTIDE EYE CREAM                    

Honestly, I hate snail. I f*ing hate them and they're gross but almost every skincare that I love contains snail mucin as it's one of the ingredients that works great for dry skin (mine). Why... haha! 

COSRX is a Korean brand and I tried so many products by them and I think it's one of the brand that you can turn to if you wanna try new skincare. While some products might not suite your skin, at least it doesnt turn your skin worst and the products are quite gentle (I mentioned in my COSRX Sunblock review that they use minimal ingredients). So far, i really think the brand is good and worth my money.

This eye cream contains 72% snail secretion filtrate and snail secretion is known to be great for hydrating your skin. This eye cream also contains 5 types of peptides and Niacinamide which will help lighten the dark circle area. Here's a tip on finding a good eye cream : make sure it contains Humectants (Hyaluronic acid & Glycerin), Peptides (Great for reducing wrinkles and fine lines), and Occlusives (mineral oil). 

I saw COSRX brand at Watsons but I'm not really sure whether the eye cream are available at Watson's stores. But you can get it from Hermo @ RM107.90 or get it waaay cheaper at their COSRX Shopee Official Store using coins and vouchers hehe. And buy them during sales!

||     WHAT IT CLAIMS

||     FIRST IMPRESSION                    

No kidding- I love the packaging. I think the best cream comes in pump bottle like this haha! I'm a sucker on keeping tools organised and dipping your finger directly into the product is not really hygienic so it's better to use some small spoon to scoop out the products that you wanna use. 

But the thing is, I keep misplacing my small spoon and it's gone 90% of the time ahaha! So which is why I love the fact that this eye cream is in pump bottle. 

Here are my first impressions on this Eye Cream :

1.    100000% love the packaging- neat, easy to use and hygienic

2.    Doesn't smell weird

3.    Cream is white in color but it becomes invisible once applied to the skin

4.    Suprisingly lightweight BUT very hydrating

||     TEXTURE AND HOW TO USE                    

I used Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask Ex before and I got to say, COSRX seems thicker as the Laneige sleeping mask texture is more serum-like. But suprisingly, it's more hydrating than Laneige (and I malas nak write seperate review on Laneige sebab I don't really fancy the eye cream haha). 

Transparent when applied, this one havent been absorbed completely by the skin yet which is why it looks super moist

Here are my thoughts on COSRX eye cream:

Texture     : Lightweight

Color        : White but transparent when applied

Absorb     : Absorb really well and fast but retains moisture on skin

Scent        : Really light, almost no scent

How to use : 

1. Apply after toner / serum and massage upwards to stimulate the eyes.

2. Or- apply cream at left eye and massage clockwise, and apply it to right eye and massage counterclockwise. Done!

I use it first before toner as I am using BHA toner which I avoid applying at eye area as the ingredients might be a little harsh at the eye area (BHA is an exfoliating acid).

Pros:

🍦  Can be applied to the whole face. I left my toner once and use this eye cream on my whole face and it works great even for me who have dry skin

🍦  It does what it claims to do

Cons:

🐌  My dark circles are slightly better but not that obvious as I spend a lot of time staring at the pc & phone (my job, can't do anything about it 😹 )

Will I re-purchase?

Yes, for the price and the quality. 

Will I recommend this to my friends?

Yes if they're looking for a solution to dry and tired eyes with affordable price. For dark circle & eye bags, you still need to do some massaging around your eye area and take better care of your eye. Control screen time (phone, pc, etc), and as for puffy eyes - use teabags, and make sure to sleep enough. 

But if you have a really terrible eyebags & dark circle, I suggest you to visit doctor as eye cream alone will never be enough. Eye cream for me is like a maintenance step while slowly improving your eye area, not eliminate all your eye area problems.
