Assalamualaikum korang~
So My family and I went to have our breakfast this morning at one of the kopitiam nearby the pasar at Batu Pahat, Johor. This is a small, corner lot kopitiam that is always, always packed with people. I've never seen the kopitiam without customers and empty tables can hardly be seen too!
I always wanted to bring my mom here for breakfast but since my mom's working on Sundays, so there's no time for us to go there as I usually spend only 1 night at my hometown everytime I went back except on holidays. (yeah, I work half day on Saturdays...)
Tapi kedai pulak tutup masa cuti. pfft.... (or we ols yang ada plan lain bhahahahah!)
|| THE KOPITIAM
This kopotiam is also known as Chop Tong Ah, existed for tens of years! I wanted to order telur separuh masak with roti bakar (half cooked egg with toasted bread) but why bother acah-acah suci when the menus available are so much more than that! There's like 3
food vendors in there, and the drinks served directly from the kitchen.
There'll be worker taking orders for drinks and bread, and other worker for food. So, there'll be 2 different staffs taking order from you. And payment wise, you pay on the spot after the food arrives. So you'll pay seperately for some orders.
The decoration is really like the old times, with one side of the wall being full with pictures and history items. A big picture of a man with Sultan Johor captures our attention. Kemain, Sultan pon penah sampai sini jemah oi!
|| THE FOOD
If you love to eat lontong, I really, really recommend lontong here as it's really tasty! The gravy is superb, even the sambal tastes really damn good! I'm gonna rate the food later below, but price wise and taste wise- I'd say it's worth waiting for the table even when it's really crowded.
It's really great to have a lot of food in a place, and even though it's crowded and full of customers, it doesn't take long for our orders to arrive.
My brother ordered nasi ayam, mom ordered Soto, lil sister ordered nasi lemak sambal + sotong, my husband and I ordered lontong and we add on satay for us to eat together. Along with drinks, total food for all 5 of us (including 20 cucuk satay too) are around RM50.
LOL i played around with filters on Instagram and the salad turns RED! hahahaha
bukti Lontong sedap!
|| HONEST REVIEW
So, here's my review!
🌠Banyak food choice dan sedap!
🌠I'd totally recommend Lontong! It's unlike other place, it's tasty and tak muak at all. The sambal is also tasty!
🌠Nasi lemak sambal sotong was good but not the best one I've ever had.
🌠Soto was good
🌠Satay was good, but the meat of both chicken and beef is super tender!
🌠Nasi ayam was suprisingly good too.
🌠Fast service
🌠Clean ambience, and it feels like you come to the past
Cons:
🌠Parking - need to park a bit far since this kopitiam is located just beside the pasar pagi.
🌠Need to act fast to grab a table because so many people hahah! yes, not 1st come 1st serve tapi siapa cepat dia dapat seat hahah
Will I come again?
