So last Monday was Public Holiday and we decided to bring mom to eat some dessert~ I saw Mykori cafe last month (baru tahu ada kat BP) and wanted to treat mom for her birthday but since we were hungry, we ate at somewhere else hehe.
So here we are, a month later!
|| MYKORI DESSERT CAFE
Mykori is a cafe based on Japanese desserts which includes kakigori and taiyaki. There are other menus as well but all of them are desserts, which explains why my family and I went to other restaurant at first since we were all super hungry. haha!
Mykori is a really famous dessert cafe since they serve really cute shaved ice and the cafe itself is cute gila and perfect for instagram. I thought that the outlet at Batu Pahat is just a small outlet (it was full house when we came), but turned out it's a two storey outlet. Besar gila bahagian atas tau!

|| THE AMBIENCE
I really love the interior of this cafe. It's clean and the concept is simple. Plus, Batu Pahat outlet here is a 2 storey cafe so you don't have to worry for the crowd because there's so much space upstairs too.

|| HONEST REVIEW
Okay, time for an honest review. As much as I love the interior and service (staffs here are friendly!), the kakigori is so-so je. It doesn't even reach my expectation, and in fact, it's wayyyy below my expectation. I've had shaved ice from a few places and it's sad to say this one is, average sangat.

⭐ 3.0 overall
⭐ Staff is friendly! Love them and the cafe is soooo clean and insta friendly.
⭐ the ambience is cute and clean
⭐ Melon Kakigori is okay- underneath melon kakigori is tembikai susu shaved ice and nata de coco.
⭐ Mango Cheese cake kakigori is "meh". The shaved ice is milk-flavored, which is so bland (tawar okeh), and the cheesecake inside the kakigori is sooo little. And that's it for RM 22 😐
⭐ The taiyake filling is not bad, but the croissant is just a bit too thin. Yes, the fish is made from Croissant ya, not batter. (even the name is croissant taiyake haha)
⭐ Plain water is available, self service.
⭐ I know kfry served bingsoo, which is a korean shaved ice dessert (Mykori is based on Japanese dessert), but I still prefer to add a few bucks and go to k-fry because the shaved ice is better and more loaded.

If you wanna take cute shaved ice & café pictures- yeah. But to eat tasty shaved ice- no.

I'm sorry Mykori. This is just my personal review (and I paid the bill, not sponsored by kfry too haha). Unless the taste has been upgraded according to the price, I stick to my review- Especially the milk shaved ice of the mango kakigori. It's bland, and doesn't taste creamy. Macam bubuh banyak sangat air dalam mixture susu tu. And the cheesecake inside the shaved ice pon kecik, the mango is the yellow topping only. Sorry.
But they do offer loyalty card. spend certain amount and collect stamp behind the loyalty card and you can redeem 1 free kakigori.

It took me a while to write this post since I wanna make sure that the products really work on my skin. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Also, my colleague took one month leave and I have to settle her works too. It's been a super duper busy month for me TT.TT #bossiwantbonusthismionth HAHA
So I won giveaway from Hermo last Apr and I waited for my toner to finish before trying out the products I've won, since kebetulan dah tinggal sikit. Plus, one bottle of skincare can only be used for 12 months max and I don't wanna waste time trying out new products and bila tak kena & nak switch back, previous toner dah expired. Wasteful kann.

I'm currently trying to save A LOT of money for my coming plan. I mean, even if the plan doesn't work out, I still need to have a huge saving for me to buy my own house, travel, and emergency. Kan?
But you know, when you desperately trying to save, something happened. As for me, nothing bad happened but suddenly a lot of tasty food & food ads appear right in front of me- with DISCOUNTED price! This time I saw Domino's samjeang personal sized pizza - literally the tastiest pizza ever existed. And I've been wanting to eat that since forever. I ate it last 2 weeks and last month too but it was super tasty (and spicy!) I can't get enough of it. And I'm afraid if I don't buy now, then the samjeang pizza will disappear and I have to wait for Domino's to release it again, tu pon kalau ada "again"~ It's seasonal kinda pizza right? like McDonald's prosperity which only available around CNY right? idk, just guessing haha!
Aku istighfar banyak2 sebab nak kawal diri tapi nampaknya gagal dikawal sebab aku dah lama kawal sbenarnya dengan alasan personal pizza takde kot untuk ssamjeang tu.Ni dah la ada, pastu ada diskaun pulak tu. Benda boleh beli sekarang, kenapa nak tangguh. Kah!
And my husband, being as supportive as he is, support me to buy the pizza since the price is super low compared to normal. (He's actually not very helpful when it comes to asking for pinion on food + saving money because we both are food hunter hahah)
Baru berangan & happy gila aku tak keluar duit langsung harini. LANGSUNG! hahaha
Actually the personal pizza just costs me RM 7.60 only after tax and it's super Tuesday deals and yes, I make RM7.60 sounded like it's such a big issue regarding my savings lol. Actually it IS a big deal because normal price is RM16+. see? It's a big deal because the savings is huge! and see, this is how I convince myself to buy food and things I don't even need. =.='''
Then today, my husband said that McDonalds is having promotion through their apps (Told you my husband is not helpful when I'm trying to save my food expenses haha). We often purchase McD using their app, and this month-end promo is just.... I mean, hello husband, I'm trying to save money here, why you tell me this! hahaha
I just started to pack my lunch again, just like before I got married and no kidding, I save a bunch of money thanks to this method alone. For my case, I received a lunch electric box as my wedding gift and this thing is sooo helpful. I can enjoy hot rice during my lunch, and not cold boring rice like before. So thankful to whoever who gave me this! (I don't even know who but thank you so much!)
If my method of saving money is successful (I tried before but this time I made some adjustments to the method), I'll write a post on how to save money for you guys ya.

Well, everyone's talking about milk tea lah kan? And then there's a lot of newly opened, unheard of milk tea brands in market too!
I personally love, lovvveee bubble milk tea. I used to drink lots of it, and I only bought this cretain brand because it's super cheap hahah! But that was before. I figured out that the franchise has increased their milk tea price (and the only thing that changed was the cup....), i stopped buying boba milk tea 🤣
Okay now let's talk about The Alley!
The ambience of this Taman Desa Botani is damn nice. It's actually a newly developed business place but the main target market is Chinese. There's also travel shop, Mentai Sushi, Dance academy, RM 1.90 shop, and I just figured out The Alley opened their branch here!
The café is honestly really nice, but we stayed outside since its was super full inside. The queue was quite long. I wish they put more English in their menu as the pamphlets we get from the counter was all written in Chinese 😅 Besides that, there's nothing to complain hahahah
My husband wanted to order their Brown Sugar Deerioca Creme Brulee Milk but it was out of stock so we just got ourselves Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk and Royal No.9 Milk Tea for mom.
This is my honest review, and we paid for the drinks ourselves haha:
Brown Sugar Deerioca Milk
• Fresh milk is used
• Refreshing but if you dislike fresh milk taste, this is not for you
• I don't really fancy this but it's not a bad thing.
• Since I don't really fancy fresh milk (but I still enjoy it!), the bobba & brown sugar really helps me to enjoy. Besides, I pay a lot for a cup of milk. If I don't drink, really wasted laaa haha
Royal No.9 Milk Tea
• Milk tea is tasty!
• I can't say it's worth the price since it's a bit overpriced but it is tasty.
• The bubble and the brown sugar makes it better.
The Bubble
• Chewy, and texture is not too hard but not too soft
• Sweet
• Full of flavor. Damn nice I really love the bubble!
• It matches the brown sugar used. Serius sedap bubble diorang!
⭐️ 4.0 overall.
⭐️ Love the ambience & the customer service is not bad
⭐️ just hope to see more pamphlets & offer in English rather than all Chinese
⭐️ They don't have halal cert yet, but they are alcholol free, pork free and lard free
⭐️ If you ask me to summarise my experience, I'd say- the drink was okay but I love the bubble (or some people call them pearl)
Will I come again?
Yes, because of the pearl (for now because there are lots of new milk tea that I haven't try). And, my husband wanted to try the creme brulee so why not come again kan. Price wise, quite pricey la tapi why no if it's once in a while kan.
Will I recommend it to my friends?
If they just wanna chat and hang out and have extra budget, not hungry, this is the place. The milk tea is tasty but it's not the level that I can say I want more and more of it considering the price (the price doesn't meet my expectations for the drink but it's still tasty. Just not the best hehe). But this could make it to my fav top 5 milk tea. Haha!

The franchise in Batu Pahat is located in Taman Desa Botani (full address at the end of post, as usual 😉). This cafe is quite huge and offers outdoor seats too. So kalau nak udara segar bugar & taknak air cond boleh dok luaq okeh!
The café is honestly really nice, but we stayed outside since its was super full inside. The queue was quite long. I wish they put more English in their menu as the pamphlets we get from the counter was all written in Chinese 😅 Besides that, there's nothing to complain hahahah
