I am not a camera junkie, or a camera geek, but photography is definitely something I love. I usually take photos using my phone camera, or whoever camera that can give me nice quality picture (lol). But I tell you, if my friends / family got a camera in any event i'm in, I will surely be the one taking photos (if my younger sister is not around, she takes amazing pictures!) HAHA!
But still, I am a no pro, and my photos are not that good yet 😅 (Read : YET)
I have a big project that I've been working on and it requires me my own camera (will reveal about the project SOON!). Not that my phone's camera is not good enough, but I need this 2 to be separated. Why? ease of use. I always think like this- If my phone ran out of battery and my usb is damaged / my powerbank also ran out of battery (double trouble), I still got my camera to take photos!
And of course, camera is needed for blogging purpose. kekeke.
So for my first camera, I was thinking of something compact, something small that can fit my pocket AND budget friendly. I got my eyes on Fujifilm cameras, but it's not within my budget. Then I got my eyes on SONY WX500, but I thought if the camera comes with a body strap, it would be amazing. But this model also comes in white, though. I die die want a white camera even though everyone said that it will get dirty easily. Then when I found the perfect one, with body strap and stuffs, the price is not within my budget pulak, but the lens is changable. I want to buy my first camera so that I can practice, to learn how to, what to do and what not to do, then only I want to upgrade the camera. Because a great camera doesn't always produce the best images, . It also requires the photographer's skill. Cewah skill, kemain jah.
I know, I know. First I want something that can fit my pocket, later I want something that comes with body strap. Then I nag about the colour and price. HANI!!!! (I pon selalu geram kat diri sendiri hahahahaha~)
I kinda look and do research for months, and decided that I should by it in October. And one day when I was planning to go out to survey the camera shop, I did my last minute researches and open tabSSSS of official camera brands website (canon, nikon, fujifilm, sony) and surf.
Now that's when i fall in love with this camera!
meet mine!
i should give him a name. how about Ron? Ronald Weasley. LOL #potterhead .
But still (WHY SO MANY "BUT"? HAHA!), I wanted the maroon one. But not in store, so I just took the black one. Hey, black is sexy.
I know, maroon is sexier.... =,=''
So, what's in the box?
1. Nikon Coolpix B500 (of course!)
2. Body strap
3. Lens cap
4. USB
5. Battery (sadly, not rechargable so I have to buy the new rechargable ones)
6. 8GB memory card
7. Camera bag
8. Manuals
That's it!

if you have a camera in mind, and you're confused on which camera to choose, I suggest you to just google "comparison between (Camera A) and (Camera B)". I did, and it's super better and faster compare to open tabs about each camera specs. hehe.
|| THE CAMERA
This camera is not pocket-friendly, but I love how it fits perfectly in my hands, and it's not that heavy. In terms of performance, it did great so far, and I cant wait to show you guys the pictures I took with it. For now, let's see the camera!
fits perfectly in my hand!
This is another thing I like about this camera. the button T & W is for zooming function, which means it got 2 ways to zoom. 1st- at the shutter button, second, is here! so you can use any of your left or right hand to zoom. no problemo.
I personally don't really like the batteries at first. I mean, idk. Like, a toy thing? hahaha. But then after some time, I think this is actually pretty good. Like if you suddenly ran out of battery, and left the charger at home while now you are at your kampung, and no one got the charger or the house got no electricity for you to charge (blackout always happen when we balik kampung because too much people use the power point HAHA!), just run to the nearest kedai and buy the new ones. Not very expensive also.

|| SAMPLE PICTURE
Here are the picture I shoot with my Ron (HAHAHAHA as if I went out with a boyfriend named Ron!)
too bright haha! This one is in auto mode, shoot in my room, at night time.
these are the unedited photos ya, using auto mode. Now let me show you the zoom function.
See the superman & batman signs?
zoomed
zoomed. HAHAH it focused on the branch instead!
Okay, I got another zoomed sample to show you guys.
how high is that!
Notice that I circled the places, as if there's "something" there. But no. this is not a paranormal activity. You might have come to the wrong blog HAHAHA
and I think it's perfect for food photography!
|| PROS & CONS
This is an honest review and my personal thought, I am not paid to do this and I buy this camera with my own money (I wish Nikon sponsor me lol, but no.)
Pros
Nice picture
Build in flash
Screen- able to flip
Easy to hold
Battery
Body strap
Picture quality
Picture in dark places (flash on)- able to capture moving object precisely
Zoomed picture is great
Cons
Unable to change lens
Unable to add on external flash (Well, i'm not a pro so I dont need this function haha)
Zoom quality- Need to use tripod or place it on stable place, or else the picture will be shaky
Picture in dark places (flash off)- great if the object is not moving, or else the image is blurred
Is it worth it? yes, for the price. and if you're not doing photography as your career, as the function is limited.
That's it! let me know if you need to know anything else about this camera in comment section. But bear in mind that I'm not a tech geek, please. hehehe
Till then,
Thank you for reading this entry!
hani shubie
