NOTES : TO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN FOOD BUSINESSES

August 12, 2018

Assalamualaikum and hi, everyone!

So I've been to this restaurant to celebrate mom's birthday. I found it on facebook and there are quite a lot good rating on the restaurant. I found bad ratings & comments too, but since the good ones are more than bad (by so many differences), so I decided to give it a go.

And I hate it.

Bad, bad experience.

I'm sharing this experience with you guys because I was so disappointed. And I would like to share so you guys who do business, especially food / restaurant business won't do the same.

|| THE EXPERIENCE

Well at first, the aunt waitress served us. And she's kind. But you know, to dine in at a restaurant when the tv which is turned on plays a serial killer story, to be exact, Dukun movie, is such a turn off. I even talked to the aunt, if she can change it to another movie since we're going to eat and it's actually rude to play some bloody human chopping movie while we're at it.

She said the tv is set to the movie, can't help us change it because she don't know the settings.

But since I already book to eat there, we just went and order what we were aiming for- shell out. I went with my mom and my younger brother & sister. So it was 4 of us. 1 kid, 1 teen. No man, and for sure, we won't eat as much as 4 adults/ 4 adult female + 1 adult male.

With that amount of people, we ordered 1 portion of Kampung shell out and 1 portion of western shell out, each with free rice and we just need to add another 2 portions of rice. My little brother wanted to eat another western meal that day but since I already told my mom that we're gonna eat shell out, we decided to order them first and see the portion. I even add siakap stim lemon too.

The portion is so big for 1 person each kampung and western set, right?

But since there are few reviews saying that the food portion in this restaurant is super generous, I began to take lotsa pictures so I can introduce them to you guys. They didn't even inform that the set comes with free drink so we order our own drink, I even order 2 glasses or water- fresh orange + air kosong. So membazir TT~TT since the portion is already that big, we didn't let my brother to order anything else. Later sure tak habis.

Western shell out

Kampung shell out

The taste of the kampung one, is so-so, while western set is quite okay. The only thing is that the seafood is not so fresh but since the price is quite cheap, only RM 19.90 per set so we didn't say much. Next time I'm gonna find somewhere else with fresher seafood. Siakap stim lemon is so-so too. nothing special.

Then comes the part when I wanna pay the bill. Total up, my bill is way so much expensive than what it was supposed to be. So I asked the cashier how do they calculate the order. So she read back my order, even tell me the 2 nasi tambah we add is foc, and everything was correct. Even their boss made fun of me saying that, "she ask you how did you calculate so tell her that you're using the cashier machine lah". I know that it was just a joke but heyyy you don't even know me. At least joke & look at me then say "haha joking!" ke, instead of making it sound like perli perli. =.='' Since my mom & sibling already waiting at the car, I just paid everything and go.

|| MY COMPLAIN

I was at home later that night, and I recheck the receipt. Guess what,.... They charged us for 4 portions. So I posted the review at their facebook page. A woman DMed me. Trying to explain the situation. she said these:

1. We cannot order 2 portion and eat for 4 person. 1 portion is for 1 person.
so, I said why no one inform us that we can't do so?

2. She said the waitress is a new staff and just worked 2 days.
ceh, now blame the waitress lah. walhal no one explain to us. chef pon memandai masak tambah our order. And I gave her example. Say I was buying 1 McDonalds burger, and share it with my friend. McDonalds can't scold me/ simply add my order because it's my right to share it with whoever I want.

3. She said, "jgnla ckp mcmtu dik, Allah, xtahu nk niaga cemana dik".
Wait, tak paham nk niaga cemana? So the correct way to meniaga is to count how many people are eating and charge them with that? Then why bother taking orders? Why don't you do buffet style? That one count kepala apa. haih..........

|| NOTES TO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN FOOD BUSINESS (and other businesses too)

1. EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN AND ALWAYS EXPLAIN!
- If we can't dine in a certain manner, please let us know. Example, We can't order 1 portion and eat for 2 people. 1 portion is only for 1 people. Please explain to us WHILE you guys are taking orders.

2. DON'T MEMANDAI
- If customer order 1, give them 1. You can give them 2 but charge them 1 only, another one as FOC. because customer order based on how much they want to eat + willing to pay.

3. BE SENSITIVE
- Music and movies played (if there is), must not contrast with your restaurant- place for people to DINE. not to enjoy horror movies, not pub also.

4. PUT YOURSELVES IN CUSTOMERS' PLACE
- Imagine going to a restaurant and being treated a certain way your staffs treated you. Being served the same thing as you sell. Do you like it?

5. BE HONEST
- Yes, we are doing business to gain income, and we got bills to pay. But please remember, food is needed daily. If people love your food, staffs and your restaurant, they'll surely come again. Think of long term profit. Not maximizing short term profit and cheat customers until no one wanna come anymore.

6. GIVE CUSTOMER WHAT THEY ORDER
- not simply change or add on their order especially if you wanna charge them additional payment

7. IF REALLY NEED TO CHANGE CUSTOMERS' ORDER, ASK THEIR PERMISSION FIRST
- Seriously what's wrong with asking? If they don't want, you can suggest them something else.

I honestly wanna do the review on this restaurant so at least people can search and find out more about the restaurant but since it turned out this way, I malas! and I'm sorry as I wont tell you which restaurant is this because I don't want people to boycott their business. I hope they will serve better, but surely as for me, I'M NOT GOING THERE ANYMORE~

Besides, If I mention the restaurant name, people will say "orang melayu jatuhkan orang melayu. Macam mana orang melayu nak maju?". LOL. So I decided to share things I thought as customers jelahhhh.

Please, please do business honestly and rightfully. Take big companies as example. If people go to ABC restaurant and order cheesy wedges, they got cheesy wedges and pay for cheesy wedges. It's up to them if they wanna share it even with 10 people. If it's not enough, they'll buy more. If they can't afford to buy more, at least they got to taste the cheesy wedges. Imagine 3 people starving, they have just enough money to buy 1 serving of cheesy wedges, but ABC didn't let them to as 3 people must eat 3 servings. The 3 people will continue being hungry, ABC Restaurant also got no sales at all sebab diorang tamak.

Get it?

p/s: suddenly remember the time my friend and I went to a restaurant. We ordered Mee Kari Udang, got Meggi Kari Udang instead. LOL.

That's all for now. More restaurant/ product reviews coming soon.

Till then,
Thank you for reading this entry!

ST. IVES FACE SCRUB- TRIED & TESTED

July 10, 2018

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!

For those who come here for the first time, welcome to my blog! So, between make up and skincare, which one do you prefer? FYI, skincare is my obsession. Seriously, I'm not a big fan of make up thing but I'm obsessed with skincare.

And here's why. Make up is temporary. Yes, you can cover up all your skin blemishes in a blink of an eye, but they can be visible again once you remove your makeup! I love watching Kdramas and of course, I envy their skin soooo much. Even the guys / sidekick actors/ ahjusshis have a really nice skin! Besides, if your skin is in a great condition, wearing make up is a bonus because you don't have to cover sooo much, and the make up can blend in so well too!

Back to the skincare story. Did you know that you need to exfoliate your skin at least once a week? I haven't been able to do so as I suffer from dry skin and it's hard to find me a face scrub that doesn't make my skin condition worse. So you can guess how I was feeling when I receive the package from St Ives Malaysia, right? kekeke~

||  MY FIRST IMPRESSION & MY SKIN TYPE

I was very surprised when I receive the parcel. Like, hey it's not my birthday yet and I didn't order anything!

It came in a cute wooden box, and it smells really good. Yes, the box and everything inside it smells like apricot, in a really pleasant way. I was so happy but kinda afraid at the same time. Why? because it's a face scrub! I tried so many face scrub and most of them left my skin dry I ended up using them to scrub my feet HAHAHAH. I already suffer from a dry skin and most scrub just make it worst.

I even use the facial cleanser especially formulated for dry skin (you can read it HERE), which produce no foam and made especially for dry skin or else my skin will be flaky, and dry as if it's the desert! As for weekly routine, I sometimes use clay mask, sheet masks and egg masks. But my friend said that St. Ives is a really good brand, and she got a few types of St. Ives scrub at home too. I know her skin type and I can see how her skin gets better every time we met, so yeah, time to give it a try!

MY ALTHEA HAUL

April 15, 2018

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone.

I bought some stuffs from Althea and decided to share with you guys on what I get for me! I don't get much since I am really keeping an eye on my budget (gotta save more money for something which I will tell you when it's time!). I only buy something I need and as for make-up stuffs, I buy something I don't have and making sure the price AND reviews are good.

Oh and I actually knew about Althea from like, 2 -3 years ago but I just bought one or two items- using my friend's account. You know, kirim sikit-sikit je. But this time, after lots of searching and scrolling, I think that it's time for me to purchase from Althea! The review I will be making is a short ones, like the overall first experience of using these products. However, I am going to make another seperate review on the Aloe BHA Skin toner later so stay tuned for my next post!

So... shall we start? 😉

|| THE PACKAGING

I love it when I got cute parcel. It's like a very happy first impression, you know hahahaha! And Althea's parcel is exactly that. I don't fancy pink- prefer maroon anyway, but it makes me feel double the excitement when I receive a parcel which is not black/grey in color like the usual ones.

And the best thing is the cute box is wrapped carefully. Yeay, I got a new box for my skincare stocks!

Oh! free samples!

some guides on Althea's own products

This is the samples from Althea own brand of skincare- Bare essentials. I saw good reviews on this products and will definitely give it a try later! The prices are also affordable, and the packaging are also minimal but got that exclusive feelings. Let's move on tho what I got for myself.

||  WHAT I GOT FOR ME!

01- Missha The Style 4D Mascara

So, the first product I grabbed is the mascara. I have one but apparently it doesn't work for my eyelashes and it took time to dry! Typical cheap mascara problem, LOL. I searched for the perfect mascara that's not too expensive AND doesn't make the eyelashes look super dramatic, and found this one- Missha The Style 4D Mascara. And it's only RM 16.00!

the brush.

Guys, I will put a link down below for you guys who is interested to make your purchase from Althea and guess what, if you sign up using those link, you will get discount of 20% on your first purchase! Isn't that cool?

My review on Missha The Style 4D Mascara
Overall : Great products with super cheap price!
Pros : Easy to apply, doesn't clump, great for first timers, affordable price
Cons : Not super waterproof, but not that bad either.

02- Oatmeal Therapy Cleansing Tissue

I rarely put on make up and when I do, it's usually during my travel or balik kampung time. So I need something that's easy to use and small to carry- Which is exactly  why I choose cleansing tissue instead of bottled makeup remover.

A-hah! Guess how much does this one costs. It's only RM 5.00! It's handy and it contains 20 sheets. I bought one as I am just testing it out but I am definitely gonna repurchase this. And to sum it up, I am going to say that this is the best cleansing tissue I've ever get my hands on!

My review on Oatmeal Therapy Cleansing Tissue
Overall : Best makeup remover tissue with super cheap price!
Pros : Effective in removing makeups, cost effective, smells nice (well, it contains fragrance a bit but i kinda love the smell hahah!), doesn't dry up the skin, doesn't clog the pores, doesn't sting, doesn't irritate the skin, not sticky
Cons : Contains fragrance

03- Cheese Pongdang 2 Color Eyes

I really love coral eyeshadows but it's hard to find the eye pallet that's cost effective and below RM 50. This is the cheapest I can find, and the colors are super cute. I love that it's size is travel friendly, but I don't like the applicator. Well, can't wish for the best when I pay less, didn't I? hehehe. But the colors of this pallet is super beautiful. Just a bit too much glitter, but surprisingly the glitter doesn't show much if you apply it on your eyelids. It doesn't give you the ready to party types of glitter lah.

My review on Cheese Pongdang 2 Color Eyes
Overall : Cute and I love the size. Not the best eyeshadows, though.
Pros : Pigmented, colors are nice, easy to apply, travel size- easy to bring everywhere
Cons : Chalky, powdery.a bit too much glitter

04- Muse Lip Dial Stick

I love the coral but not so bright shade of lipstick so I bought M07- Edie Red. So far I love the color but I can't seem to roll it in back. Luckily I didnt roll out too much of it 😭😭😭

swatch of the lip color

My review on Muse Lip Dial Stick
Overall : Great color, great packaging
Pros : Pigmented, colors are nice, easy to apply, matte color
Cons : a bit dry so please put on lip balm before apply the lipstick, need to reapply, I can't roll the lipstick back in. Idk if mine's cracked or how 😭😭😭

05- Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist

I am a big fan of Nature Republic as I've been using their products for years! CC Cream, toner emulsion, sleeping pack, sheet masks - you name it. But I am really sad that NR Malaysia closed down recently and I can't get over that fact! I bought this mist as the one of the replacement of my NR Aloe Vera Toner. This is just a normal soothing face mist and not a toner ya! It's hydrating but not enough for those who suffer from dry skin like me. Sadly, I can't find Nature Republic toner in Althea, so I make my way to find another Toner that's got good reviews too.

My review on Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist
Overall : Soothing, freshens up your skin
Pros : Soothing, refreshing, moisturizing, can apply to the whole body, suitable for sensitive skin
Cons : Dry skin needs more than this

06- Aloe BHA Skin Toner

This, my friends, has got to be the best steal ever! I bought this on sale and it was RM 38.00 and I open Althea website again today and found that it's back to its original price of RM 80.00! I am literally screaming right now hahahaha! Of course I didn't realize it when I put this on my cart as I was only focusing on the reviews and results! hahahahahaha okay enough laughing. This toner is surprisingly mild and gentle on my skin, doesn't sting and it moisturizes super well! I am going to use this until the last drop and make another exclusive review for you guys yaa.

My review on Aloe BHA Skin Toner
Overall : Moisturizing
Pros : Moisturizing, gentle, not sticky, suitable for dry skin
Cons : Am testing this products till the last drop and will let you guys know later!

.
.

So, that wraps up my Althea Haul! Oh, remember I promised to give you guys discount of 20% from your total bills (max disount capped at RM 20.00), and this is only applicable for new customers only. Just click at any Althea  word in this post (or HERE!) because I actually linked it straight to the offer! hehehe. Good luck for your shopping and make sure to read the ingredients, products specifications & information and please please google for the review, okay?

|| OVERALL EXPERIENCE

I am satisfied with the products received especially in terms of the packaging. You can enjoy free postage if you purchase total of RM 100.00. However, the waiting period is slightly longer (at least 7-14 days) as the items are shipped directly from Korea. I would recommend you to purchase from the physical outlets near you or you purchase from Hermo as it's based in Malaysia and you won't have to wait as long. Unfortunately, I can't see my tracking number in their new website. I hope they'll fix this.

Overall, I rate Althea:
4.8 stars for the quality and presentation (hey I love the box)
4 stars for the variety of products (please include Nature Republic Aloe Vera Toner, pleaseeee)

Will I purchase again?
Definitely!

Will I recommend this website?
If you're willing to wait a bit (as the shipments are made from Korea), yes I would definitely recommend this website!

Till then,
Thank you for reading this entry!
