AJ RENTACAR- HOW TO RENT CAR IN JEJU

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!

So this post will be on how I rent car in Jeju, using AJ Rentacar!

Okay at this point, you guys must be wondering, people usually book with KT Kumho, why do I book with AJ Rentacar? Simple- the price. HAHAHA! Have to admit, I'm not one of those rich kids who don't even have to look and bother about how much they're going to pay. I do care about how much I have to pay and we all want something with reasonable price AND good service. Win-win!

|| HOW I FIND MY WAY TO THIS WEBSITE     

Okay here's a tips: google it. That might sound lame, but you really have to google it! And this is how I do it, which means it's not necessary right and there might be a better way, but I'm showing you

1. Google on the list of the car rental provider, and open each and everyone of them. You can also search at the rentalcars.com but I open each company homepage.
2. Read the review or skip and terus Sign up. This might be the leceh part but trust me- it's worth it. Because new members often go discount codes, which is exactly why I open up the homepages, instead of just using search engine.
3. Fill the forms on when are you planning to rent the car
4.  Compare prices.
5. Google on the service review. Most people do this first but I do it after I compare the prices because when you compare prices first, you kind of get the idea (and I make a list) of which company you want to rent car from, in order. If Company A review is not okay, go for Company B. And this way, you won't have to search for review for every company available too!
6. if everything's okay, confirm booking!

I recommend you to go straight to the company's website instead of using agents since I read lots of bad comments from those who book through agents.

For those who are planning to rent with AJ Rentacar, I screenshot some steps for you guys!

|| HOW I BOOK THROUGH AJ RENTACAR     

1. Go to AJ Rentacar

If the homepage is in Korean, click English on top Right. 

(mine's already translated)

2. Click "Membership" and tick T&C box

3. Fill the form

4. Make sure the dates are correct and click "Location"

5.  Fill in & click "Type of Car" 

6. Choose your car, since it was just 2 of us, we choose standard so we don't need to search every pages for the perfect car

I love the fact that we can see the total payment at the right section

7. Click Option section and choose which type of promotion discount is better (mine's both the same) and also insurance that you prefer (normal or premium). Our insurance are quite expensive since we book it a month earlier. Also, please indicate whether you need a GPS (1) or not (0).

Done! A confirmation email will be sent, and you can print that out.

||  INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE     

To be able to drive in Jeju Island, you gonna be need an International Driving License. For Malaysians, you need to bring these documents to JPJ:
1. Passport pictures with white backgrounds and collar shirt. White background ya, not grey.
2. Copy of your IC & driving license
3. RM 150.00 for the fee, valid for 1 year.

You will be given a form to fill at JPJ, and done! Please make sure your license is not expired to make international driving license 😉

As usual, please check your details before leaving the counter!

||  MY EXPERIENCE     

The service is fast and good. Since the price is way better than most websites, it's no suprise that lots of people book their service. Since there was only 2 of us, we picked Kia Morning. The best thing is you can make payment using cash! We didn't do much shopping and we got cash balance which we can't use back home, so let's just pay using cash!

for safety reasons and to avoid being cheated by the car rental companies, it is advised for you to take pictures of every inch of the car especially the damages that's already there. I've read reviews saying people have been cheated and have to pay for damages that they didn't do just because they didn't have proof. It wasn't AJ Rentacar, of course. But to be safe, just do it.

Upon arrival to Jeju airport, you must first look for the AJ Rentacar kiosk, just follow the signage upon custom clearance. The cons here is the staff at the counter could not speak english. The staff will check your reservation and ask you to go to the bus waiting area. One thing to take note. if you couldn't find the bus, please ask around because our bus got a small " AJ rentacar"  signage, and most parts of the bus just full with cartoon character, maybe olympic character. I'm not sure. 

This bus will take you to AJ Rentacar place. make sure you have your booking number and International driving license and money for payment. The best thing about AJ Rentacar is you don't have to pay deposit. After settle with the payments, you will have to take the car and the staff will do the check up for you. Make sure to pay attention as the staff will highlight which part is already broken and make some marks at the agreement (do NOT throw this paper out). 

Important: Please ask the staff to set up the GPS language to English.

Cons: The speaking language will be English and the display & writing language will still be Korean. 

Pros: You can seek the places just using the phone number! you can always google the places'  names and their phone number will appear. But of course, knowing some Korean will be super helpful.

I'm a Malaysian driver and obeying the speed limit is so stressful HAHAHAHA! especially when the speed limit is 60 km/h, and i'm at 65 km/h, the GPS will keep making warning sound until I'm at 60km/h or slower. =.='' But it's good actually!

Please follow speed limits as there are so many cctvs, road cams, speed traps over there and you don't wanna add up your problem, especially in the foreign country!

Upon returning the car, just come to the same place you take the car, and there will be signage on where to drop off you car. Remember to pass them the agreement that you got when you pick the car for them to check. The staff will check and you're good to go! They'll provide free shuttle bus to airport, just like when you first come. 

||  MY REVIEW     

Staff : They're friendly and helpful. It'd be better if all staffs are fluent in English. Some staffs have a very good English but not everyone 😊

Car: Cars fuel tank is full, we don't have to worry about refilling the gas but you have to return it full tanked too!

Will I book here again if I come to Jeju: I do have plan to come again to Jeju as I love Jjeju Island so much and yes, I will definitely book with AJ again!

A lot of you guys emailed me and asking about the confirmation email. If you don't receive any confirmation email, kindly fill form HERE and request for the confirmation email. You will need the booking number in the email and for ease of your journey, to print it and show to the staff at the counter (this way, there's no problem if the staff can't speak much English).

You can also ask them regarding anything that's not clear, and they'll get back to you via email 😁
